In November 2007 Richard Evans was appointed Executive Director of the Australian Retailers Association (ARA), Australia's peak industry body representing the $292 billion retail sector which employs over 1.5 million people after 5 years as CEO of the Franchise Council of Australia.
In 2006, Richard authored The Australian Franchising Handbook a definitive guide providing valuable information helping people with their decision-making process prior to investing in a small business. He is also a columnist for BRW Magazine and other industry magazines.
