Mr. Kearneys role is to identify opportunities for licensing in pharmaceutically relevant scientific findings from Australian and New Zealand research institutions and biotechnology companies; develop and manage initiatives to support Australian biomedical science in the form of research scholarships and commercial training for science and medical graduates, sponsorship of conferences and representative bodies, and support of commercially promising research projects; encourage senior high school students and university entrants to select science subjects as a way of assuring an adequate and well-trained workforce for Australias biopharmaceutical industry.
